Apartment Review for West Oaks Apartments - Orlando, FL

West oaks is a good community, even though the outside buildings look a little washed out the inside of the apartments are kept up to date and look really good. I have yet to have a problem with roaches and pest control comes out every wens but only to your apartment if you ask, but the pest control guy services each building in alphabetical order continously and I have a friend who lives here who had roach problems and he took care of it for her. The office staff is sorta iffy the property manager erin evans is very nice and perky and is quick to please you and try to fix the situation. The assistant manager is this puerto rican girl named marlene and she can be a major bitch most of the time so just deal with the main manager or the new leasing girl who is shy and quiet but helpful and sweet as pie. I have lived here about 7 months since november 2006 and it has been pretty quiet aside from police sirens late at night once from a home invasion and the other time i'm not sure what from. Keep in mind that crime is everywhere you go whether it's a gated community or a mansion. The maintenance staff is pretty good with servicing our maintenance requests although there has been more than one occassion where i have had to call in a service request again for it but, they apologize and it gets taken care of before the day is out. There aren't any security on property but i have yet to see any serious crime. West oaks is right off colonial and hiawassee so i sometimes here sirens but it is just police or ambulances passing by, not in the community. The rent is very cheap and reasonable so you pretty much get what you pay for there isn't any bonuses all there is are a laundry room and a pool. No playground or anything for the kids which kinda sucks when my nieces and nephews come to visit. I think overall it is a pretty good place to live I'm not planning on leaving anytime soon.
