My Honest Review (Read if you're considering movin

Long, but very helpful honest and personable review if you're considering moving to 'The Place On Millenia Blvd'... I moved to the Place On Millenia Blvd Apartments on November 1st, 2007 when it was very new. They had recently opened up their doors to start leasing in August of 07 so I had an opportunity of choosing which apartment I wanted since the buildings were nearly empty at that time- FANTASTIC! Anyone would be sold by its luxury exterior, amenities, and first month free rent, however once I moved in reality set in... First of all, the floors are so thin that I could hear my neighbors below talking and playing their loud music every day beginning at 9am. It's obvious that The Place On Millenia Blvd did not pay the builders to place concrete slab over the wood when they were building the floors. I complained to the rental office on numerous occasions about my downstairs neighbors and they did nothing. My neighbors did stop playing their music by 9pm so I couldn't call the police unless they continued to play their loud music after 9pm, but having to deal with this everyday throughout the entire year term was quite annoying. I worked at night so my sleep time was during the day and there were plenty of days I would have to get out of bed, go downstairs, and knock on my neighbors door asking them to turn their music down. They never answered so I'd have to leave sticky notes pleading with them to keep it down. Although the floors inside of the apartments are a nice tile, the apartments include washer and dryers, the bathrooms are a very nice size with garden tubs, the kitchen counters are not real granite as they advertise- they are rather fake granite counter tops. Even the balcony's are nice but thankfully I was on the third/top floor because you can look directly down into your neighbor's balcony to see what they're doing because there were large spaces between the wood balcony. I've heard of people complaining about their upstairs neighbors watering their plants and the water seeping down and destroying their balcony furniture. As far a parking goes, I had a garage so obviously never had a problem with parking like most tenants did who did not have a garage. During the last 2 months of my lease I lost my job and informed the leasing office that I would be late on my rent due to me having to wait until my unemployment checks arrived in order to cover the entire $1,140.82 monthly rent. I understand property management companies are there to protect, lease, and evict tenants when they don't pay rent, but for 9 months my rent was always paid on the 1st of each month and when I asked if it would be okay to pay on the 15th for the remainder 2 months, their whole attitude changed towards me. I couldn't believe how badly the Property Manager, Eileen and the Assistant Manager, Nadia treated me when I said I would be late for rent for only 2 months; for I believed I had developed a perfect rental history with them for 9 months. Unfortunately it is inevitable when someone is laid off of their job, but if I'm promising to provide you with the entire amount within that same month just a few days after the due date, and you get an attitude with me for something I had no control over, it definitely shows that you have no compassion. People never really understand what you're going through unless they encounter the same experience. I had a meeting with them and they talked so down to me that I was in tears and they did not care. Most of the time they spoke Spanish to one another which was so unprofessional in an office setting being that I do not understand Spanish and was clearly speaking English to them the entire time. They had no remorse as to what I was going through which reiterates that property management companies are there to make money. If you lose your job or get sick, you can forget about receiving an extension with Lincoln Properties because they have no tolerance for tenants who are late on their rent and even with a promised date to pay your rent, will still forward your case to their attorney to commence the eviction process. My advice is if you're going to rent at The Place On Millenia Blvd would be to ensure that you have at least 2-3 months in advance rent or have money put aside for the inevitable because if you have an emergency situation like I did, you're out. By the way, although I was not evicted because I did pay my rent, this place has the highest number of evictions in the area so just be sure first of all that you can afford the rent. Lastly, according the lease, the leasing office was supposed to provide me with a 60 day notice with an option to renew my lease or rent month to month and they did neither. They called me 30 days before my lease ended and asked me to vacate the property within 30 days. They were very unprofessional and I will never rent with Lincoln Properties again! Sincerely, A Former Tenant
