Apartment Review for Monterey Lake Apartments - Orlando, FL

I too thought, oh how can it be that bad? It looks pretty nice and maintenance is always cleaning and taking care of the place... I moved in here because the price was right and it was literally next door to work. I ended up breaking my lease a month early because my apartment was BURGLARIZED. My hoodlum neighbors kicked in my door at 9pm on a Sunday and tossed the place, taking my xBox and childhood gold jewelry. My next door neighbor was hit the day before me. On-site "security" was a complete joke - he had no power to do anything, so he chummed it up with the guys who did it. And YES, I KNOW FOR A FACT who was involved. I reported everything to the complex and the police. And everyone got away with it. Oh well, insurance covered the loss, and I moved out the next day. But what about the sentiment of my charm bracelet that I'd had since I was 5-years old and souvenir coins from my travels? I was told to search the local pawn shops. On to the apartments themselves - GROSS. The AC is powered by WATER = MOLD!! You may not see it, but it's there, growing on all your stuff. Open your AC vent, the unit itself is covered. I had constant sinus issues. Not to mention how LOUD (and uncomfortably COLD) the AC runs. But that helped drown out the noise of the neighbors. And the knocking of the plumbing, good grief! Oh, how many times was my hot water or water all together turned off for an entire day for pipe maintenance? Bi-weekly? Back to the place in general - I had to call the cops several times because of fights in the parking lot in the wee hours of the morning. Certain neighbors thought it was fun to set off firecrackers in the courtyard at all hours of the day and night. Thankfully, they were kicked out. I can't tell you how many drug deals I witnessed while walking my dog. I was waiting for the day bullets would start flying through the paper-thin walls. You have my warnings. BEWARE!!
