Apartment Review for Mallard Cove Apts. - Orlando, FL

I love the size, my neighbors,and there are 3 nice size pools.we have a pond {with potential} and an exercise room. The grounds could be breathtaking. The office staff was wonderful,now that has changed and all the problems plus their arrogance is not worth the price, even if they were free. The problem is the age of the complex and maintenance restrictions due to funds i presume. Ihave had numerous problems. someone drove into my bedroom window, it now can not open. the air conditioning unit upstairs leaked onto my wood dining table and ruined it forever. the bathroom upstairs leaked into my master bedroom in 2002, not yet replaced. they revamped the lake lining and we then had a rat infestation that lasted over 8 months. I had 18 HUGE RATS killed or captured in my apt. they ate through the dishwasher and washing machine hoses causing a total of five floods. twice i had more than 2 inches of water standing through out my apt. there is nothing like getting out of bed and steppin into 2 inches of water with a dead rat floating in the kitchen. I finally bought my own rat poison and in one week they were gone. I also had a problem with snakes getting into the kitchen, how? there is obviously a hole somewhere. they used foam insulation and filled as many holes as they could find, but the rats only dragged the foam all over the kitchen floor, and it will not come off. the ac unit has been changed twice, they wear out quickly when they leak and freon has to be replaced every ten days. we now have new owners, they of course made many promises, and have now recinded them. I was amazed to discover my experience has been surpassed by many in this complex. that is the response i was given when inquiring about a new floor for the kitchen. no improvements will not be done for current tenants only new ones. Their attitude and lack of motivation to keep those of us who have lived here for years is the reason i am moving. I dont expect miracles, but if you are too poor to maintain the place properly, you should at least be cordial about it.
