| Lived here for two years and here's the deal:
There are some nice amenities, mainly the pool [when it's not closed of course]. The 'no alcohol by the pool' rule is never enforced, unless you're drinking out of a bottle. But, you don't even have to be a resident to use the pool, so you're better off living somewhere else because the negatives here far outweigh the few positives.
There have been several burglaries (cars and apartments) and shootings (seriously) here. Definitely not the safest place. There is security, but it's a joke. They come drink and do beer bongs with us at parties when they should be patrolling. Speaking of the parties, it's not as crazy as it used to be, but they still happen.
The management/office staff are horrible. All of the staff that actually cared about the residents and tried to make things better have been fired. The people that work in the office have no qualms about lying (said they never received faxes because machine was broken, when actually they did receive it and were just too lazy to respond) and seem to enjoy fining us for ridiculous things.
Incoming freshmen will probably like it here because they'll believe the "Value Checklist" propaganda. But you should check out other options before you commit to a place where you're likely to find roaches in the kitchen, silverfish in the bathroom, and future burglars lurking around in the parking lot. |
