When you move in, make sure you thoroughly fill out your "move - in sheet" with ALL the broken, dirty, worn out, etc. problems and take pictures!!!!!! My daughter just moved out, after only her and one (out of four) roommates spent many hours and backbone in cleaning up the ENTIRE place and they all still got charged for the kitchen not being cleand, etc. Also, beware if you take over someone elses lease - document the filth - when my daughter moved in (taking over lease) NOTHING was clean - the carpet was digusting, the Bathroom unuseable - We had to clean for hours before moving in!! Yet, on move - out, they are charging for leaving it in much better condition!!! On our move - in sheet, we checked areas of concern, but did not emphasize enough, so on talking to manager, he states, "well, you only said there were spots on carpet" - we, of course, were charged to replace it from previous tenant's damage because we were trying to be nice and not complain too much ! (Yes, stupid on our part)!!!! SO - RENTER BEWARE and document EVERY little stain, damage, etc. and take pictures - Better yet - DON'T rent here!!!!! Management, also, is constantly getting things wrong, say one thing and mean another - rules are always changing, depending on who you talk too...... Get everything in writing!!!!!!!!
